Lake Wenatchee and Leavenworth, WA

Wenatchee is a around two and half hour drive via I-90 E from Seattle. One can also drive via US2 which is more scenic compared to I-90 and it goes through Stevens Pass. Kayaking at Lake Wenatchee: Kayaking can be very peaceful but dont go deep towards right side of the lake, that side of lake merges with Wenatchee River and the water current can be heavy for a kayak to return to the shore.

Few minutes from the lake you will find a small waterfall on Wenatchee river. Water flow is very rough and has high current. River Wenatchee is around 85 kms long and finally merges into Columbia River.

Wenatchee state park has 2 camping grounds: North and South divided by the Wenatchee River. North ground is closed during winters. South camp ground is open all year round with heated washrooms and shelters.
